"Enter Sandman" is a 1991 song by the American heavy metal band Metallica. It was released as the first single from their eponymous fifth album, Metallica. The music was written by Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Vocalist and rhythm guitarist Hetfield wrote the lyrics, which deal with the concept of a child's nightmares.
The single achieved gold certification for more than 500,000 copies shipped in the United States, spurring sales of over 22 million copies for Metallica and propelling Metallica to worldwide popularity. Acclaimed by critics, the song is featured in all of Metallica's live albums and DVDs released after 1991 and has been played live at award ceremonies and benefit concerts.
It is among Metallica's most-played songs, having, as of October 27, 2012, been performed live by the band 1,108 times, behind only For Whom the Bell Tolls (1,254), One (1,274), Seek & Destroy (1,344), Creeping Death (1,368) and Master of Puppets (1,417) - all songs that were released before Sandman.^[1]

I Disappear" is a song by the heavy metal band Metallica released as single only in Germany. The song was recorded as a contribution to the Mission: Impossible II Soundtrack and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks for seven (non-consecutive) weeks in summer 2000. It does not appear on any of Metallica's studio albums. The song, which won a 2000 Metal Edge Readers' Choice Award for "Song of the Year From a Movie Soundtrack,"^[1] is the last Metallica studio recording to feature bassist Jason Newsted. The discovery of an unfinished version of the song in early 2000 on the peer-to-peer file sharing network Napster helped bring the illegal sharing of mp3 files to the spotlight, leading to the lawsuits that eventually brought down the original incarnation of Napster.

In January 1988, Metallica regrouped following the release of three increasingly successful studio albums and the death, some 15 months earlier, of bass player Cliff Burton, who had been crushed beneath the band’s tour bus when it crashed in Sweden. Bassist Jason Newsted joined singer/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett and drummer Lars Ulrich to begin work on ...And Justice For All.

Recorded over the course of four‑and‑a‑half months in LA’s One On One Studios, this would turn out to be the breakthrough project for the Californian thrash-metal virtuosos, reaching number six on the Billboard 200 en route to eventually being certified eight times platinum by the RIAA. In what has since been named one of the 10 biggest upsets in Grammy history by Entertainment Weekly, the musically complex progressive‑metal album lost the ‘Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance’ award to Jethro Tull’s Crest Of A Knave. Despite its popularity, the record also courted controversy among Metallica’s growing legion of fans. Many listeners were critical of what they perceived as the album’s overly dry and clinical sound; one which, for reasons that will be explained a little later, was largely devoid of Newsted’s bass. And for another, a lot of diehard fans weren’t happy that the band joined the commercial mainstream and courted the likes of MTV by shooting their first music video. Said video accompanied ‘One’, the fourth single off the album and Metallica’s first record to crack the Top 40 in the US, climbing to 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. With a running time of just under seven‑and‑a‑half minutes, its lyrics were inspired by Dalton Trumbo’s provocative anti‑war novel Johnny Got His Gun, in which a WWI soldier lies helpless in a hospital bed, trapped inside what’s left of his body having lost his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, arms and legs in a mortar shell explosion. Despite struggling to get radio airplay, ‘One’ became Metallica’s first hit single, and remains a staple of their live performances.

“That song is more or less the theme of the whole album,” says Flemming Rasmussen, the Danish producer/engineer who produced the group’s two previous long‑players, Ride The Lightning (1984) and Master Of Puppets, at his own Sweet Silence Studios in Copenhagen before embarking on ...And Justice For All. “At that time they had already acquired the rights to the [1971 Johnny Got His Gun] movie that they used for the video, because they knew ‘One’ was going to be the big thing that all the metalheads would latch onto.”

Temper Temper (Bullet for My Valentine album)

Temper Temper is the fourth studio album by the Welsh heavy metal band Bullet for My Valentine released on February 8, 2013 in Australia, and February 11, 2013 worldwide under RCA Records.^[8] The album was once again produced by Don Gilmore, who worked on the group's last album, 2010's Fever, and was mixed by noted engineer Chris Lord-Alge.^[9]
The band debuted the album's title track live on October 22, 2012 as part of BBC Radio 1's Rock Week. Bullet for My Valentine released the track entitled "Temper Temper" on October 30, 2012 worldwide across all digital providers apart from in the UK where it was released on November 25, 2012.^[10] On November 12 a music video for the single "Temper Temper" was released. It was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Michael Dispenza.^[11] On December 17th, 2012 the next single was released via YouTube named "Riot". On January 11th, 2013 the music video for "Riot" was released. The band collaborated with Chris Jericho from Fozzy on the song Dead To The World. Jericho helped write the lyrics to the song. The album was leaked on February 1. ^[12]

"Tears Don't Fall" is a song by the Welsh metalcore band Bullet for My Valentine. It is the band's fourth single from their first full-length studio album, The Poison. The single was released on June 17, 2006 through Trustkill Records in the US. The song won the Kerrang! Award for Best Single. The song peaked at #24 on The Hot Mainstream Rock Charts and #32 on the Top Modern Rock Charts.^[10]

Hand of Blood

and of Blood is the second EP by Welsh band Bullet for My Valentine. The EP is almost the same as the previous. It was released on 22 August 2005 through Trustkill Records, with completely different artwork and slightly altered tracklisting (4 Words (To Choke Upon) was track 6 on the Japan version of the self-titled EP). Strangely, this EP is not available in the U.S. version of iTunes. Hand of Blood included the single "4 Words (To Choke Upon)", accompanied by a music video, along with "Hand of Blood". The songs 4 Words (To Choke Upon) and "Cries in Vain" were later included on the band's full-length debut, The Poison. The title track also appears on a few copies of the same album, replacing "Spit You Out".
